WILDCATS
ABOUT US
Co-President
Hi, My name is Suksiri Lerdritsomboon and I am a senior at Centreville High School. As a child of someone who has had cancer, I could never imagine being on the other side of the table. My mother was diagnosed with stage IV cancer when I was around 5 years old and I cannot fathom the idea of someone being 5 years old, or of any age during their childhood, being diagnosed with cancer. Wildcats VS Cancer is a wonderful club that gives me the opportunity to do what I love most- helping others. The idea of the school and community coming together to help one cause is just absolutely wonderful and I am truly grateful to be a part of something that can make a difference.

Hi, my name is Olivia Dinh. I am a senior at Centreville High School, and I have been with the Wildcats Vs. Cancer Club since it started. I joined the club because I wanted to make a difference. Cancer is something that has become so detrimental, and it needs to be stopped. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2012; he had surgery and went through months of chemo. An adult having cancer is awful, but when you think of a little kid having cancer, it just becomes heart-breaking. I want to give back to the community, give back to those who aren’t as fortunate. As a member and board member of this club, I know for a fact that great things are achieved and there will be plenty more that will be accomplished.
Historian/Media Coordinator
Hi! My name is Liyandra Aranjuez, and I am a senior at Centreville High School. I am very excited for the year ahead of us because this will be my second year joining Wildcats VS Cancer Club, but my first year on board as Historian/ Media Liaison. When I first joined this club last year, I did not know what we would be doing at first, but then I learned about all the future activities, and I got truly excited. I really had a lot of fun at the meetings, doing monthly activities, and especially at the Festival to Fight Cancer. I have learned so much about cancer during the past year, and it immensely hurts to hear and see little innocent children go through it. By being part of Wildcats VS Cancer Club, I know that this will encourage me to be more involved with the children and help the kids enjoy life and have fun. I am super grateful to get this opportunity, and I know this year will be one for the books! me. It's easy.
Finance Director
Hi, my name is Bridget Kowalski and I am a senior. I first heard about this club last year and knew right off the bat that I wanted to be apart of it. Cancer has been around my family too much so I know how difficult it is to see loved ones go through it. I wanted to actually do something in the community to help fight against cancer and this club was the perfect way to start. Through this club, it enables you to help those kids and families battling cancer while also spreading awareness throughout the community. Wildcats vs. Cancer has done a lot of great things already and I look forward to see what else we can accomplish!

Hi! My name is June Ha Park and I am a junior at Centreville High School. I was first introduced to this club my friend and from the start, I was so excited to be a part of such a wonderful club that is dedicated to ending childhood cancer. As I went to each club event throughout the year, I realized meeting children who go through the unimaginable are so influential. I see their bright smiles and eager hearts to learn more about the world ahead of them. It breaks my heart that they are put in such a limited position due to cancer but I believe with the strong efforts of this club and advocators who spread awareness to end childhood cancer for good, these precious children can one day be cancer free and have the chance to see the great things life has in store for them.
Secretary
Hi, my name is Christine Park and I am a junior at Centreville High School. I have been a part of Wildcats Vs. Childhood Cancer Club since my freshman year. I joined the club because it provided amazing opportunities for me to help others who aren’t as lucky and fortunate as me. I hope to be involved in the medical field in the future to further assist those in need. My family members have suffered from dangerous illnesses so I know how hard that experience can be for a person. I wish to raise more awareness in our community to build stronger support for diagnosed children. My personality has greatly changed by becoming a member of this club; I am more positive and upbeat every day. I am so excited and grateful to help out as a secretary this year!
Founder
Hi, my name is Valerie and why I decided to start this club because as a sibling of a cancer patient, I felt powerless. I remember living in my sister's shadow through countless treatments over years of time. Pediatric cancer drastically changed my family, and it left many visible and internal scars. From this experience, I gained a wiser perspective on life, and I realized that no one should ever feel the pain that my family and I went through. This is why I started the Wildcats vs. Cancer club. I wanted to give back as well as raise awareness in my own community. I found that many people were unaware of the cause and by becoming members, they started to become more aware and empathetic for the cause. Slowly, they became advocates because they understood why childhood cancer mattered and why it was important. One day, I hope this becomes a larger ripple effect not just within my little pond community but rather in larger "oceans". We are the future and it is our responsibility as the growing generation to be the change, and one day I hope to be that change.
